This and That
Chelton's Specialty Northern Meats is a collaboration of beef producers across the headwaters of the Fraser River in northern British Columbia. My partner ranchers are primarily cow/calf producers where they raise calves and sell them to the open market at the age of 6-8 months. Working with me to raise animals to finished butcher weight is a value added passion for these ranchers. It creates an opportunity to hand feed a bunch of yearlings and see the genetics of the male cows in the herd reach maturity.

We hold the protection of water quality, the care of healthy soil and maintaining all aspects of a healthy herd among our highest priorities.

We harmonize our Grazing and our farming with the geology of the individual ranches to maximize the time cattle spend eating grass and the time needed to grow feed for the winter.

We have different flavours of beef available at different times of year.

Ethical treatment of livestock, avoiding antibiotics and keeping cattle free of hormone growth implants is guaranteed.
